See the sights of the most charming city in America, New Orleans, through the eyes of the artist, Edward Dupont. A native New Orleanian, Dupont captured the essence of this unique American city in his paintings. The images are a tour of New Orleans and its environs, and, while somewhat abstract, they actually become more real than photographs. In addition, Dupont’s New Orleans demonstrates the influence of some of the major watercolor artists of the 20th century, such as Whitney, Webb, Wood, and Shackelford. The text accompanying each painting is a short, lively poem in iambic tetrameter, which captures both the heart of the painting and the section of the city to which the painting refers.

Hi Mr. Kirkwood,
My name is Amie Scairono Ferguson. Eddie Dupont was my Great Uncle, and passed his artistic genes onto my Father, my Aunt, and my brother. Our family has many Dupont pieces, at least a dozen. We appreciate and enjoy your publication, Dupont’s New Orleans. If you’d like to be in contact with us, we would enjoy showing you all of the pieces we have. I miss that old man and all of his brilliance!!!
